I have often thought that independent retail is one of the hardest businesses to make a go of. Not only do you have substantial overheads; rent, rates etc, but considerable start-up costs; stock, shop fittings advertising & promotion, and all of this before you hear the first ring of your till! Things have been going well since my last blog apart from one minor disaster (which I’ll get to later). Last year finished on a very positive note with the highlight most definitely being receiving the Press Young Business Entrepreneur of the Year 2007 and the awards ceremony that came with it.

Another year…another website!

In spite of the excellent feedback we received from the ‘Kids Saving Lives’ campaign I spoke about in my last blog that we piloted at my son’s school last year, we’ve had to temporarily put that project on hold. However, we’re hoping to relaunch as early as next month when we should have enough time to devote to it.
