The tricky world of staff appraisals

Since I have last blogged (is that the correct verb use?) I have managed to complete all the staff and volunteers annual appraisals except for one, and I plan to get that one when that member of staff returns from leave.

Since I posted my last blog the Stephen Harrison Academy (SHA) has really taken off. With many snooker clubs now running at a loss due to a variety of pressures, including the smoking ban, we’ve found a new direction that seems to be working really well and greatly benefiting the community around us.

I’m having a difficult few days! My landline hasn’t been working, my mobile is broken and my Internet connection has been down. When you work from home and don’t have the tools to do it it’s a real problem, especially when you’re juggling three jobs.

Diving head first into the crazy world of business

Everything seems to have picked up pace with the farm shop development, the building work will be complete in a matter of weeks not months and so it will be then down to ourselves to do all the fitting out, stocking up and staff training before the grand opening.

What a difference 5 weeks can make!

Since my last post I have made the decision to close down Freestyle, my web solutions business. The reason for this is very simple; I find it really boring! I started the business because I had skills in that area, but now I just find it really unexciting.
