I’ve had a good few weeks recently, having completed a commission to create a piece of art to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the founding of modern America, which sounds like quite a mammoth task!

Well it’s been a few weeks since we did the Bambino show, which definitely turned out to be a learning curve. It was hard work as there was a lot going on at the stall; we were on our feet talking to people and selling our products throughout the weekend and of course running the charity raffle which raised £250.

I’m still working on putting my dressing room together but it’s proving very difficult to juggle two jobs and being a full time mum working from home. Still can’t get on with selling our product or advertising what it is we do, as the patent is going to take a month or so to go through. We’re taking the delay as an opportunity to take stock of our plans for moving the business forward, and in particular, who to aim the product at.

I’ve been working hard on getting aspects of my styling business finished and up to scratch following the success at Driffield Show. I’m not really ready to start marketing hard, as I’m running the business from home, and the room in which I keep all the outfits and will dress people in still isn’t finished, and I currently have to run the service from my bedroom!

Next week I’ll have been in business two years, which I think is a good time to stop and take stock of how far you’ve come; fortunately August is always pretty quiet so it is a good opportunity to really reflect on everything I’ve achieved.

This week is a big one as it’s patent week! We’ve got enough money together from friends and family to pay for the patent, so within a week we should be able to start telling the world what we can do for them…
