Patent Prolongment
Not much has been happening recently as both my business partner, Luke and I are now back at university and are still waiting for the patent to come through! We’ll hopefully have finished our uni work by Christmas though and will get a good start at developing things in the New Year.
The patent process has been a long-winded learning curve; it’s taken so long because we’re having to clarify everything in the wording explaining what the idea is. It’s resulting in endless letters back and forth between the patent offices and us whenever they come across a word that could have a double meaning. Fortunately Luke is pretty good with wording and he’s taking care of that side of things.
Last week I went to a useful conference in London; it was the launch of Global Enterprise Week and we were invited by the NCGE who organised our trip to America. It’s been developed as a global event this year, with representatives from most countries invited to all the conferences. We met a really useful contact who is planning to organise trips for small start-up web companies in the UK to go and meet large web players in the US, such as MySpace and Facebook. Would really be perfect for us to get involved with. I’ll keep you posted on that one!
